Boogey Ball is a multiplayer Unreal Tournament 2004 modification in which monsters use their scary weapons to fend off one another while chasing the elusive Boogey Ball. The mysterious powers of the Boogey Ball transform a common monster into the Boogey Monster, endowing the monster with special abilities. Monsters must possess the ball for a set amount of time to transform into the legendary Boogey Monster permanently.
The game is similar to the children's game of tag but with a twist: the players want to be "it". Players use weapons to stun the Boogey Monster and force that player to drop the ball, while the Boogey Monster uses special abilities to get away. The goal is to hold onto the Boogey Ball for a set time limit. Players accumulate time while holding the ball. However, accumulated time counts down when players do not have the ball. When a player accumulates enough time, that player wins the game.
